Mumbai, Feb 9, 2010: In a move to bring all Indians together agianst recent communal disharmony stirred by various political organizations, the city youth has launched country wide “One India Movement” that aims to promote unity, solidarity and bond of love among all Indians. To begin with, the fourm has initiated a campaign – “India Unites on Valentine’s Day” to create awareness and to pass on a message to those anti-social elements who do not wish India to stay united.
According to a release from the forum, on Feb 14, 2010 one is expected to tie a red band on the hands of individuals/friends/colleagues irrespective of their ideology, faith, community, religion, caste and region. This band will show unity and speak it out aloud that all Indians are one and will stand up to protect each other against any aggression or deliberate efforts to divide the honorable citizens.
According to Vikram Kharvi , the founder member of the movement “This movement is necessary to remind politician’s that they can not take Indian’s for granted forever and continue to divide people of India into their vote banks and for their own vested interests”
“India is well known for its unity in diversity, but is it the reality today?. Let us all prove it together that YES it is a reality and there a need to prove it again and again. The feeling of Unity and bond of love are endless emotions, we choose Valentine’s Day, as it is the day to share love. We all belong to one country, one nation, one India. Let us all share this pride and make this movement a huge success.,” says the youth promoting this movement.
